This will be our final blog post here as we transition our communication to our online learning space in Brightspace. Please see below for a repeat of the message that you received by email earlier today.
Dear Parents and Students, Thank you for your patience as we have worked through some necessary planning in preparation for resuming structured learning opportunities for your child. We understand there has been plenty of uncertainty about what learning is going to look like moving forward. I can assure you that we are going to work on key learning outcomes at-home within the parameters established by the province and CBE. Starting Monday April 6, 2020, you will receive a weekly learning plan. Each week’s plan will highlight what we are working on, will include various resources and will explain the activities or tasks I would like your child to work on. It will also include how you can support and how I will be able to facilitate learning. I will primarily be communicating with you and your child via our Brightspace course which can be found on our school website. Please use the link for technical support with Brightspace. In time, we intend to supplement student learning with tools such as Google Classroom and if necessary, will replicate lessons into a paper format. Of course, you can always reach me for support. Students and/or parents can reach out to me for help or for clarification via e-mail from Monday- Friday between 8:00am – 11:00am. I can be reached at: [email protected]. If the questions come in during the weekday, I expect to be able to answer most questions that same day. Tomorrow I will email you with more information about the format for learning and clarify our weekly schedule which will begin on April 6th, 2020. By Thursday I will be providing some online learning experiences to familiarize students with our new routines. I recognize this is new for most of us and we will engage in this new adventure together. I am here to support your child and look forward to being in regular contact while we learn and work from home. Thank you, Jessica Maheu [email protected]

Dear Parents/Guardians,
I would like to thank you for being responsible with your health and the health of all our community members. The recent school closures have resulted in some creative thinking about how the duration of our cancellation can look. During class cancellations, I am supportive of educational experiences at home. In the coming days, I will be communicating our plans as they are developed. In the meantime, I wanted you to know that we have been learning about division in Math, writing poetry in ELA, famous artists like Picasso and Matisse in Art, and Safety and Responsibility as it relates to bullying in Health. We’re going to begin learning about Plant Growth and Changes in Science as it ties to our work in the Bridges Butterfly Garden. It is suggested to maintain your child’s school routine. Use school as the framework and honor what had been your child’s routine:
I am hoping you will share your learning experiences with me. Please feel free to send pictures or notes to me via email. Please watch for emails from the CBE, our school and myself. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
