In Science: Grade 5 - Students are welcome to bring in supplies from home for their Weather Station project. We will begin building our weather instruments after Winter Break. Outreach Evening 2 Days Away!
Dear North Haven School Families: We are 2 days away from our Community Outreach Evening! Next Thursday, December 13th, from 5:30-7:30 We will come together in support of activities that give back to local organizations. We will start the night with recorder performances by our grade 3/4 and 5/6 students, as well as a performance by our Hand Bell choir. We have had donations brought in and we are still in need of the following items to support classroom activities: 1. Fleece fabric (new or used) 2. Thick yarn 3. Candy canes 4. New children's books 5. Travel Size & Personal Care Items including: - tea/hot chocolate - oral care items (toothpaste, toothbrushes etc.) - mugs - water bottles - colouring books - pencil crayons/felts - slippers - shampoo/conditioner - unscented lotions - travel size Kleenex 6. Lunch Items (please drop these off starting Tuesday, December 11th): Bread or large buns Sliced ham Sliced turkey Pre-sliced real cheese (ie: Cracker Barrel or Kirkland Brand cheddar or marble cheese) Mayonnaise Mini carrots Celery Mandarin oranges or apples Nut-free granola bars Juice boxes Please feel free to drop off your donations at the office as soon as possible! In Math- We has a mad minute - 2 minutes; We began a new problem solving task called Decimal Magic Squares. It is due on Monday December 10. Students worked on decimal place value questions. We will be having a unit test on Thursday this week. In Science: Grade 5 - Today students continued to work on their Cloud Study Project.
