North Haven Update: North Haven’s Parent Council is doing a cheque writing campaign! Last year’s campaign funded new MacBook Airs to support technology in the classroom. The goal this year is to reach $5000. Currently, parent council has raised $1800 in donations! Please help support the cause! This could potentially fund new robotics, a soccer residency, and karate. Cheques can be made out to the Calgary Board of Education. Donations over $25.00 with the student’s name in the memo will be given a tax receipt. Thank you for supporting new learning opportunities at North Haven. MyCBE / PowerSchool will be unavailable from Dec. 20, 2019, at 5 p.m., to Dec. 27, 2019, at 11:59 p.m., for an important upgrade. This includes student fees and service registrations (i.e., transportation and noon supervision) In the spirit of giving, the staff, students, families, and community members of North Haven came together on Dec. 13th for our annual Community Family Outreach. Litter-less Lunches: At North Haven we have been working on ways to positively impact our school community. We noticed that many of the lunchroom bins for recycling are full of items that cannot be recycled. What ends up happening is that the recycling and the recycling bag have to be thrown in the regular garbage -every single day! This uses an expensive recycling bag. The same thing happens with compost and compost bags. That's a lot of bags being wasted! All students can help by taking home all of their lunch containers and peels to try to have garbage-less lunches at North Haven. Thank you for working to positively impact our school community! Thank you for continuing to contribute to our litter-less lunches. This is allowing North Haven to save on expensive bags in the school and to save the environment on a larger scale.
